LLM-Powered Semantic Book Recommender

  • Cleaned 6,810 book records with Pandas by filtering incomplete metadata and short descriptions, producing 5,197 analysis-ready records.
  • Generated semantic embeddings for cleaned book descriptions and indexed them in Chroma to support natural-language similarity search.
  • Evaluated BART-large-MNLI zero-shot classification on 600 labeled descriptions, achieving 77.83% accuracy before categorizing 1,454 previously unlabeled books.
  • Built a Gradio interface that retrieves 50 semantic candidates and displays up to 16 recommendations using category and emotional-tone filters.
